The Covid-19 vaccine is a vaccination that is given through a shot in your arm, enters the muscle, and builds up an immune system to the virus by generating antibodies. It is an mRNA vaccine, given four weeks apart, and does not contain the live or dead Covid-19 virus. Vaccinations will be available soon either at the doctor’s office or at your local pharmacy. Side-effects may include tenderness, swelling and pain at the injection site. Fever and chills may accompany, but the vaccine does not cause Covid-19. These side-effects are minor and will go away in a few days.
Please remember that a vaccine is never 100% protection and a weak immune system, as well as other complications, may lessen the impact of the vaccination’s impact on the body which makes it so important that you still follow social distancing rules and wear your mask at all times.
