At Saxon Internal Medicine we want to make sure we provide patients with quick and easy tests to detect if you are having any cardiac problems that may require a referral to a specialist.
An EKG can be done in our office by our trained medical staff and is quick and painless. This test will show us if the electrical signals that your heart produces are normal or abnormal.
- Some common diagnosis that it could help us uncover are as follows:
- Arrhythmias (abnormal heart rate)
- Blocked or narrowed arteries that could be causing chest pain or a heart attack.
- Whether you have had a previous heart attack
Chest pain, dizziness, lightheadedness, heart palpitations, rapid pulse and shortness of breath are the common symptoms that may require an EKG to be ordered.
